This weeks player in focus is Ben Cunningham
Ben was one of the original players in the team when we started in 2009 and left for pastures new at the beginning of this season.
However, after only a few months he decided his loyalties lay with Hurricanes and rejoined us at the beginning of 2011.
He plays on the wing and has scored some great goals in his time at Hurricanes. He has good feet, is skilfull on the ball and once
he gets past his defender he can put in a great cross.
Unfortunately for Ben he has rejoined at a time when results have not been going our way and team confidence has been a bit low.
Consequently, he has perhaps not been getting the service from defence and mid-field to give him a chance to shine on the wing, a situation
we fully expect to change as results improve and confidence gets better.
Ben's natural game is to find space, get the ball and take on the defender; he is strong in the tackle, unselfish and is a good passer of the ball.
He works hard at training, never misses a session and obviously enjoys his football. As with many of our team we have high hopes that he
will develope into a very good footballer as his all round skills improve; Ben needs to start believing in himself again, having perhaps lost some of this
self-belief during his time away from Hurricanes.
Keep it up Ben, we believe in you.
